Benefit Dinner - A Celebration of the Light Festival (End of Buddhist Lent)

Proceeds from this year's benefit dinner will go toward the expansion of LHF's 2009 music and dance programs. We featured dance performances by girls and boys ranging from 4 years old to college-age. Our musicians are as young as 6, some of which had only 3 months practice. Below are pictures and video clips from the show:

Second Annual Summer Camp, Seattle, WA

Following the success of the August 2007 pilot project, LHF now holds annual summer camp to teach children Lao culture, history, etiquette, teamwork, and music & dance.

Launching of Music Program, Providence, RI

Following a successful pilot program in 2007, LHF collaborated with the Lao Community Center (LCC) of Rhode Island to launch a music program in Rhode Island. LHF provided the curriculum and instruction, while LCC provided the facilities and funding for the instruments and travel.

FORTE Talent Show, Seattle, WA

First of its kind in Seattle, and one of very few in the US, FORTE featured talented artists of Lao descent. Featuring traditional music and dance, it also included talents in hip hop, rock, R&B, comedy, classical piano, and more.
